Hi I'm Nikala and welcome to my Toffee Photography and scrapbooking blog.

I live in Brisbane's western suburbs with my husband Jason and two children Harrison 9 and miss Charlotte 6 1/2.

My love of photography and scrapbooking began with the birth of Harrison and quickly became my passion.

I love to update my blog regularly with clients sneak peek photos, personal images of my family, my scrapbooking layouts and news and anything and everything that inspires me to create.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nikala xx

My little miss 7.

Way too much has happened since my last post. So, to simplify things, here's a few photos of Charlotte.

Whitchery now sells kids clothes and they are just gorgeous. Bought Charlotte her new winter wardrobe from there. Too cute.

Where do I begin.....

22nd December 2010

It's been so long since I last posted a blog entry and a million things have happened since then too.......so many that I don't know where to begin.

Here it goes:

My new job in real estate is fantastic. I went full time into sales back in May and all is busy. I've sold a few homes in that time, experienced my first auction and have concentrated on my personal marketing with organising  bus shelter advertising, letterbox dropping flyers and or coarse the billboard went up too.  We all hate the photo of ourselves but my kids think it's pretty cool...god love them!

Bette (our principal) loved her surprise birthday gathering that Tony successfully pulled off in June.

We've found a fantastic architect that has completed our final drawings.....very excited about that. We've had to get organised with researching products, building materials, fixtures and designs as we're building this next home on our own. There's so much to do, but one step at a time and it's coming together nicely.

Love this home. It won display home of the year and some of of its  design elements have inspired us with our home.

My not so little boy celebrated his 9th birthday on 26th May.....can't believe it. You know when they're growing up when they don't want you to bring a cake to school.....not cool! Charlotte celebrated her 7th Birthday on the 2nd December and has lost yet another front tooth...she's been singing "all I want for Christmas...." ever since.

Toffee Photography has also been steaming ahead. I've had the pleasure of photographing many lovely families again this year and I completed the advance course in Photoshop. I'll share some of my favourite images in my next post.

That's all I have time for right now,

Nikala.

The Rolley Family

You may remember, a little while back I attended a "Pink Ribbon" Breast Cancer Fundraiser at the Stamford Plaza. For the past couple of years I've donated a Toffee Photography Photo Session and this year it was won by a gorgeous family of three...soon to be 4. After a couple of failed attempts of getting together....I finally had the pleasure of photographing the Rolley family. We had a fun session of laughs, perfect weather and most importantly some lovely captured memories.

Oh, by the way...... you made my day when you said that I didn't look old enough to have a 9 year old! ha ha.

So, here's your sneak peak. There are so many I love, so it was difficult to choose a few.

I hope you love them too.

Master "S" loved the lens. What a cutie pie.

Happy Easter

I can't remember the last time I took the kids on a planned photo session. It's not because I haven't wanted to, its been a case of not having any spare time or good weather.

My mum has the most beautifully decorated Easter tree and this year I was inspired to have one too. I don't have any photos of mine just yet, but I used a few of my decorations from it along with my favourite little bird nest. Harrison wasn't interested enough to come with Charlotte and I, he's getting to that age unfortunately.

Here's a few of my faves:

Its been a while

Life has been extraordinarily busy at home and work for us lately, hence why I've had no time to update my little blog. We (Belle Centenary) sold the home we're renting on the first open which is great but it also means I had to find another rental to move into. I spent hours on realestate.com and looked at many.....and I found a great double storey home not far from our house we sold. So....here we go again, moving just after Easter.

The great news is, we have bought a block of land in the beautiful Edenbrooke Estate:

We'll wait until we move before we have the plans drawn up. We've got a few ideas in mind and we'll take advantage of the view. This home will be extra exciting as we're building it on our own. Jason's "Living ABODE" building/landscaping business is taking off and this project we be our first "Living ABODE home". There's so many great new building products available since we built last and we've spent heaps of time researching them. The "Living ABODE"  website is now complete and we've just this week requested it to go live.

Here's our street:

There's still quite a bit of construction going on in the street, but my principal - Bette, just recently sold a gorgeous home in the street and I photographed it:

I've lost count of how many homes I've photographed now. It's quite different from photographing families, but it was a new challenge and I'm enjoying it. My real estate career is going really well. I've met some fantastic people, seen some beautiful homes and all the time learning loads. Next week I'll be hitting the streets with my family letter box dropping my agent DL cards.

Thanks for stopping by,

Nikala
