With the end of my Elite Team journey for "For Keeps mag" coming to an end, I've started to take on some DT work for Scrapbook City again. I love these new Making Memories - "Passport" papers and they were perfect for what I had in mind for Harrison. I wanted to make him a mini book - themed "You'll go far" and I've always had a thing for parcels tied with string.

Tania and I took Harrison to see "Star Wars" on Thursday. We went to the Cineplex movie theatres at SouthBank and had sushi before hand. I've never seen a star wars movie to the end....I find them extremely boring and this one was no exception. Tania left to visiting the little girls room and decided to hit the nearby shops and try on a dress, lol....true Tania style! Harrison loved it.
The Ekka!
It has been many years since I last visited the Ekka and that's what we did yesterday. We entered through side show alley at around 9.15am with hardly a soul in sight. The kids played the clowns, took a roller coaster ride in an enormous caterpillar and had fun on the slides.

The baby animal petting area was fantastic. If I could off caught a pig I'd have put him in my handbag. I enjoyed a cuddle from a 5 year old St Bernard called Jack at the dog pavilion. The latest caravans on display have made me consider going on a trip and the strawberry ice-creams are even better than I last remembered. I also bought a fireman's calendar including autographs, because I've realised that from the looks of the fireman that visited our surgery last week.......the only way we'll see bodies like that are in the calendar - trust me.
Bye for now.

5.4.3.2.1....blast off!
Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 04:25PM After many weeks of my dad building and adding all the detail to his rockets, last Sunday was time for them to take to the sky. Dad had made 4rockets in total.......two for him and one each for the kids. Harrison's was bright yellow with Batman stickers and Charlotte's a "Crayola crayon".

My parents had both the kids on Saturday night so Jason and I could celebrate our 9 years of marriage over dinner for two.
They headed out to somewhere in Jimboomba for the launch and so did channel 9. I've been told that miss Charlotte is apparently a natural in front of the camera.......can't image why, It's not like she's had one in her face since the day she was born, hehe! Chanel 9 ran the story on the 6 o'clock news Sunday night which we all found extremely exciting.
Here are some images with the complements from Brendan Pratt - the photographer on the day.

Charlotte's crayon about to take off.

Harrison and papa.

The kids are still talking about the day and looking forward to the next rocket launch.
Bye for now.

I think I can speak for both Kels and I when I say that we had a ball yesterday capturing her in all her blossoming with number 3. We planned ahead with a few bits and bobs and made it to three different locations. Thanks for the opportunity Kels.......looking forward to hopefully photographing the newest addition. I haven't quite finished with editing all of them but I hope you like your sneak peek.

Something different
Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 03:31PM
Last week I was asked to photograph food for a recipe book that will be available in 500 hotels throughout Asia. All three dishes contained mango and looked wonderful. The best part was taking a piece of this yummo mango pie home. Food is so less stressful than photographing active little kids. It was something different for me and I enjoyed the opportunity, so thanks Annie and all the best with the recipe book.

Now that your taste buds are watering, I'll change the topic.
With all this rain about Jason had last Friday off and as the kids were at school and Pre-school.......we had the day to ourselves. We made the most of the time and went to see "Hancock" with Wil Smith.......I had no idea what the movie was about but the image of him in that beenie and those sexy sunnies had me from the start! Quite a good movie though, if you're thinking of seeing it. After lunch and a glass of red wine I was more than happy to curl up on the couch and rest the eyes......I don't drink that often and it makes me sleepy. But no, it was then to JB HI FI. We had been discussing that we'd like an IPOD, mainly to use at the gym to get us in the mood.....so we did and it's great - definately helps to get that body moving.
Tania(sis) has returned home from 10 days in New Zealand......skiing the slopes, looking glam as she always does.
Mum and I are off to see "Mama Mia" on thursday night. Penny's SIL has booked the Blue Room Cinema for a bunch of ladies and I'm looking forward to it. Gotta love those ABBA songs.......they bring back so many fun memories.
We are off to the farm to celebrate Gracie's 5th birthday on Saturday....I don't know who's more excited - me or the kids! I'll post some pics next week.
Have a great week,

A gift
Friday, July 25, 2008 at 04:38PM I wanted to give M a mini book of some of the images I took last week as a keepsake. I wanted her to have it before she was admitted into hospital on wednesday for surgery. I love that I can use my hobby to make something creative with the photos I take......especially keepsakes that always mean so much. I'm so glad you loved it M. We wish you a speedy recovery and I look forward to catching up with you again soon.
