Hi I'm Nikala and welcome to my Toffee Photography and scrapbooking blog.

I live in Brisbane's western suburbs with my husband Jason and two children Harrison 8 and miss Charlotte 5 1/2.

My love of photography and scrapbooking began with the birth of Harrison and quickly became my passion.

I love to update my blog regularly with clients sneak peek photos, personal images of my family, my scrapbooking layouts and news and anything and everything that inspires me to create.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pink Ribbon High tea.

Last year was the first year that I got involved with donating a Toffee Photography sitting to help raise money for breast cancer research, and I was more then happy to get involved again this year. Most of us have been touched by a friend or family member that has cancer and one of my friends was diagnosed last year. She's been through so much this past 14 months and being involved is the least I could do.

On Sunday afternoon a group of 45 ladies enjoyed high tea at the "Stamford Plaza". Jodie and Annabel did a fantastic job the with the organisation of a very successful event. They raffled off 20 great prizes....gift vouchers, flowers, fruit and veg, facials, handbags, perfume and I happened to win three of them. I think my luck has changed...I normally never win a thing.

Annabel and Jodie

I'm looking forward to meeting the families that won my photo sittings and capturing some beautiful images for them.

Thanks for stopping by,

Annual family photos

Hi there,

Just wanted to mention that my photography sittings are booking fast. If you're thinking of having some family photos taken to remember 2009 or need the perfect Christmas gift for family members or grandparents, please email at toffeephotography@ozemail.com.au and we can arrange a sitting for your family. My last photo sitting will be Sunday 13th December to give me enough time to get your images back to you before Christmas.

Beach Break

Last week we took a short break to Marcoola Beach Resort with another family from school. The weather was absolutely perfect... and it was the first time we holidayed with another family. The kids really took to the ocean this time...riding the waves on their boogie boards for hours at a time. I had the chance to break in my new camera. I previously warned our friends that there'd be a camera present where ever we went and they were great willing subjects.

For the past 2 weeks I've been attending another photography course. It's 8 weeks in total. I completed my first assignment on Friday night, with a trip into the city. I love being surrounded by other photography nuts. Our lecturer is the best...full of knowledge and has a huge passion for his hobby. I've added a top quality tripod to my kit this week and am in the process of purchasing a light meter.......it never ends!

Tonight I'm off to yet another jewellery party with the mums from school...should be a great night.

Have a great weekend,

Nikala xxx.

School holiday review

So it's back to school for the kids and back to work for mmmwa. I had the most relaxing 2 weeks in a long time. It was lovely to roll out of bed and hang out in our PJ's to 10am. There was no planning ahead of what we were going to do or who we were going to visit. We took a few visits to the public pool, saw "Up" and "G-Force" at the movies and the kids friends slept over. Mum took Charlotte to Caloundra for 3 days and Harrison to "Lazer Force". I got stuck into a little scrapping too.

A little gift bag I scrapped for Charlotte's friends birthday.

I've also been hand sewing up a dust storm. It seems I've become a little addicted to fabric as well as paper. I'll share those later.

In the 2nd week I eagerly waited for these to arrive:

I can't explain just how happy I am to have these little babies in my hands. I've been wanting the Canon 5D Mark II for quite awhile and its been worth the wait that's for sure. The speed and clarity is second to none and I'm so grateful to have a hubby that supports my photography. I've enrolled into another photography course that starts next Thursday...can't wait.

Here's a few pics of Charlotte before she left for a friends super hero party. She makes the cutest Wonder Woman don't you think?

Here she is lifting up our car.

We celebrated mum's birthday on the 26th of September at Tania and Murray's place with a BBQ.

I thinks that's a long enough post for tonight. I'll back with more to share soon,

Take care,

Nikala xxx

a Great night in

As I mentioned in my last post, I hosted a "Parisiene Designs" party on Saturday night at my place. I first saw the items when I went to Bette's party and fell in love with everything then. It didn't take any convincing from Debbie to have one at my place.

I haven't had a girls night in ages and I was really looking forward to having the girls around for a chat, drink bubbles and a fun fashion parade. We drooled over the handbags, wallets, watches, shoes and new to the party....designer fashion from France. Bette was the (not so shy) model for the night. Everything looked fabulous on her. I came away a very happy girl, with two pairs of earrings, a diamond bracelet, an Italian pair of sunnies, the cutest pair of black Italian shoes and little sheer jacket. All the items are directly imported from France, Italy, Spain and Russia and all purchases are yours to take on the night. There's no catalog, as the items are usually one offs or only come in a size range, so the line of products are always new at every party.

C U SOON,

Nikala
